Two years ago, my family decided we needed a cheap, second 'commuter' car. We settled on a 1999 Black Mazda Protege that had a myriad of problems: The engine, taken from a ford escort was underpowered and tended to 'miss' quite a bit, the trunk was misshapen from a previous accident, causing it to not close correctly (we had to employ pipe insulation to seal the trunk so that the contents would not get wet when it rained). The driver's side keyhole didn't work and a few of the motorized windows would roll down, but not back up. But I digress.Instead of investing money into all these problems major and minor I decided that a $4 Autobot symbol would be a better use of money.After more than a year, I believe the symbol has kept this car alive. beyond its years. Its allure has been SO powerful that TWICE someone has tried to steal my Mazda (they obviously coveted it THAT much), only to give up and pry the symbol off instead ... most likely because they realized the true source of the car's appeal.To its credit, the symbol is really well made, fashionable and it does hold incredibly well when applied ... they damaged the hood trying to pry it off.So be warned ... the awesomeness of this decoration may attract unwarranted attention from your peers ... and Decepticons (another story for another time).
