I got one of these a few years ago before I had my shoulder surgery because I wanted an warm easy to snap together with only 1 hand and I wore it a lot. Decided I'd get another earlier in the season to get a better color selection....having some quality control issues. I bought 2 shirts, one I had to send back, the other is acceptable with some minor flaws. The one I sent back were missing (at first glance) the bottom 3 male snaps on the front and a couple on the cuff and one plastic snap inlay was set all cockeyed. Turns out the "missing" snap parts were in the female side of the snaps, having pulled away from where they were supposed to be attached. There didn't appear to be any pulled fabric or anything so they probably just didn't get crimped right if that is the right term. A distinction without any real difference. There were no issues getting a refund and I even got an apology for having been sent a manufacturers reject. I guess that can happen but other reviewers had issues similar to mine. The other shirt is pretty good but, as you snap the snaps from the top down, the male side is a bit lower than the female, or front side, and the difference increases the further down you go, till the bottom male part will line up totally outside the upper snap. The pockets seemed a bit too close to the front of the shirt too, so I measured them and the left side is about 2 3/4 from the edge of the material and the right side is only 2 1/2, not even the same. I measured an old Five Brothers shirt I have from probably 18 years ago, one that I had bought at Kaplan Brothers in Minneapolis back in the day. I didn't wear it much over the years and it is still in good shape. Those pockets are both 3 inches from the edge. I kept the second shirt and will live with the minor flaws, even though they shouldn't be there. I am going to hold off buying any more shirts though till I see how this one goes for awhile.I never came across Five Brothers shirts any place other than Kaplans, and after I moved out of Minnesota, finding decent flannels was a chore. I think they were off the market for awhile, and I am guessing the current manufacturer bought the name and is trying to recreate the great shirts from yesteryear. They are doing a pretty good job. As I said, all the components are here. The fabric is everything I expected and the snaps seem to be identical to my old FB shirt. They seem to be making every effort to match the quality I was used to since I started buying this brand, and may just have to dial in some manufacturing or inspection issues.I was glad to see that Five Brothers are available online and was ready to stock up, but have now decided to put on the brakes a little. I will give them another try once I see how this shirt goes for awhile rather than just jump in with both feet like I wanted to. As for the price, it seems a little high to me but as I remember, the price in 1981 was about an hours pay before tax, so by current standards, the price is in the same ballpark.A first quality Five Brothers shirt is worth every penny, and with their willingness to take responsibility and accept the return of a flawed product, they are definitely worth a try. BTW I found the sizing to be accurate to what I expected.Beutiful when it first arrives. Then after washing, yeech! A mess!Great fit, and a little longer than expected which makes it even better.Purchased 2 five brothers flannel shirts. The copper color for great. The red and black very small. Will not go out of my way to purchase a five brothers flannel shirt anymore.Awesome!!! AWESOME!!! AWESOMENESS!!! AND PERFECT!! I have 3 now and love them all!!!I bought the tall size. Arm length is fit on my husband but the body part of the shirt a little bit long.Good product but I don't like the "pearly" buttons . Check out before you buy it if you like it or not. This can be a surprise if you don't like it.This brand is wonderful. Others are getting so thin and they don't hold together. This brand is heavy and well made. It is the second one I have ordered.
